Inkeon Lee

Biography

Inkeon Lee is a Ph.D. candidate in the Graduate School of Science, Technology, and Policy (STP), Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST). In the master’s course, his research focuses on the employment effects of R&D investment and the system of innovation. He is also interested in debates on post catch-up strategies for the development and innovation of Korea. Based on his experience on quantitative analysis and R&D governance, his primary interest is at how public R&D institutes and firms shape innovation policy, and in turn, how the policy and R&D programs affect the firms' innovation. I'm currently studying the policy process for science, technology, and innovation, focusing on a consensus building and funding system. Investigating an agenda-setting process on public R&D since the late 1990s of South Korea, I plan to understand how do the catch-up policy rationales in the 1980s evolve into the recent policy goals for economic growth, which is overwhelming the majority of S&T policies. Before joining the STP, he had an internship in a non-governmental organization. He is graduate of Sogang Univeristy 2015, where he studied Chemical Engineering with Economics.
