TIP Resource Lab will launch in 2022, bringing together learnings from Consortium members alongside theoretical foundations and practical tools.
Les new Lab will be the ‘connective tissue’ between the projects, experiments and geographies of the Consortium – an open-access, online collection of tools, resources and learnings for implementing TIP methods. It is designed to support TIPC members and partners in scaling up policy experimentation across different organisational and geographical contexts, and will share insights from the journey of TIPC members, associated members and partners across Latin America, Africa, Europe and Asia.
It also links to research that drives TIP thinking about the nature of society and processes of change, and will provide a conduit for connecting research into TIP with practical application.
Practitioners will get a sneak preview of the components at four learning events taking place between June and December. These interactive workshops will focus on the exchange of knowledge and experience, capacity building and reflexive learning – a place where people working with TIP can connect, with the shared aim of fostering transformations.
The first three components will explore TIP’s methods for:
- understanding a chosen socio-technical system, and defining what changes are needed;
- planning and implementing experimental interventions to help build new rules to enable change; and
- monitoring, evaluating and learning from the experimental interventions.
The final two components provide complementary tools, resources and references for:
- ways of working with different political and cultural contexts, with different types of organisations and with a variety of people, with an attention to the process of implementing TIP; and
- extending the TIP community of practice and the knowledge infrastructure needed to continuously improve TIP practice and theory.
‘Coaches will influence further development of the Lab, and help put the materials into practical use for the development and evaluation of transformative policies, projects and programmes,’ said Victoria Shaw, TIPC Programme Director.
The components will be accompanied by a narrative user guide that alludes to the questions, processes, case studies and tools. Sign-up for the event happening for each components’ release:
