A Transformative Theory of Change is a tool that can help you design, implement, and evaluate projects aimed at transformative system change. The tool combines the Theory of Change methodology with the Multi-Level Perspective (MLP) as a way to map and understand changes enabled by a project or program. It can be used to facilitate a co-creation process among societal stakeholders invested in sustainability, connecting innovation with societal challenges through the effective delivery of knowledge services.

In this workshop, we will learn when, how and why to use a Transformative Theory of Change by looking at real-life cases from EIT Climate-KIC’s projects SATURNOACT no NBS e SuSMo.

2021 Transitions Policy Lab

The European Green Deal is the EU’s strategy to move towards climate neutrality and circular economy by the transformative policy. That transformation requires the alignment of multiple stakeholders and instruments with existing regional innovation plans such as the Cohesion Policy. Policy mixes emerge with the purpose of reinforcing synergies and complementarities between EU, national and regional innovation initiatives.

The Transition Policy Lab addresses the goal of shifting practices for policymaking by removing barriers for enabling the necessary institutional change. It is aimed to build capacity to co-design and implement systemic strategies that can lead to potentially transformative policies and actions.

It consists of a series of five interrelated capacity-building activities implemented through three different formats multi-stakeholders setting, science-based training and executive programmes.
